Introducing Toppen Ridge

April 29, 2019

I’m thrilled to bring a passion project of mine to the market in North Van, Toppen Ridge. This boutique collection of just 24 townhomes and courtyard homes are crafted with the same attention to detail as every Formwerks custom-built home. Taking cues from Scandinavian minimalism paired with the industrial heritage of the neighbourhood, these design-driven homes feature a unified architectural concept, peaked roofs with stylish industrial gooseneck lighting, oversized windows welcoming natural light and functional Dutch doors distinct in colour; all of these picked up from North Short inspirations.

This project has been fully managed by my team — developed by Formwerks Boutique Properties and designed by sister company, Formwerks Architectural. The market has been asking for clean lines and a simple design that speaks to modern lifestyles. I’ve noticed a trend moving toward owning fewer ‘things’ and as a result, people want simpler designs to match this aesthetic; this is why the Scandinavian design works so well here.

We derived special inspiration from Moodyville’s area and rich history. The black metal materials throughout the homes are a nod to its historic heavy industry and sea port, so mixing that material provides continuity from the past all the while bringing the latest by plugging into the Lonsdale Energy Corporation. Drawing from sustainable energy sources, this system allows for cost, energy and space savings with a lower environmental impact, providing benefits for the owners and the city for years to come.

There’s something for everyone at Toppen Ridge. We designed lock-off suites suited for a live-in caregiver, grandparents or as rental income. We also have live-work designated townhomes which allows for a home-based business with street frontage on East 3rd Street. One-level courtyard homes are available for folks who prefer living without stairs. And for growing families, we have 3-level, 3-bedroom townhomes.

I hope you’ll get a chance to check it out and see if there’s a home here for you.

Ta,
